Every year, new weight loss supplements enter the market. Many of these promise wonderful results, but are unable to live up to their promises. These ineffective supplements disappear off the shelves after only a few months. Unlike these supplements, Garcinia Cambogia was discovered to aid in weight loss three years ago, and it is still around. Judging from customer reviews, Garcinia is not only available, but it is still helping people lose weight efficiently.
Okay, I’ll be honest and say that I have been needing a weight loss supplement. The positive customer reviews I read encouraged me to use Garcinia, but I didn’t want to base my choice of supplements solely on hearsay. So I set out to research Garcinia for myself. Do you think it can withstand the scrutiny?
What Garcinia Claims to Do
Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA) is the active ingredient in Garcinia Cambogia extracts. HCA is said to inhibit the citrate lyase enzyme. By suppressing this enzyme, HCA prevents carbohydrates from being changed into sugar. With less sugar in our blood stream, our cells are forced to burn stored fat for the energy that they need.
HCA is also supposed to raise the level of serotonin in the brain. Serotonin is a hormone that regulates appetite, emotions and sleep patterns. With more serotonin at work, we should feel less hungry and also be more emotionally stable.
Since I have a melancholic personality and tend to eat emotionally, I almost stopped my research at this point and began taking Garcinia. I decided it was best, though, to finish what I had started, so I continued on to see what clinical trials and studies have been done with Garcinia Cambogia.
What Trials and Studies say about Garcinia
There have been a generous number of animal trials done with Garcinia Cambogia. These trials have shown that Garcinia does decrease body fat and in some cases the build up of fat inside of the heart. These animal studies also established that Garcinia suppresses appetite and contributes to weight loss.
There have been a few human trials done with Garcinia too. One scientific study came to the conclusion that taking a Garcinia extract with 60% hydroxycitric acid does inhibit the citrate lyase enzyme and results in a decrease of body weight and fat. This same study found that Garcinia does not cause toxicity or any other harmful side effects. I also found one case where nine controlled trials were done with humans to see if Garcinia truly did aid weight loss. The participants in these trials were split into two groups. Both groups ate the same low-calorie diet, but only one group took a Garcinia supplement.
In three of these trials, both groups lost about the same amount of weight, but in the other six trials, the participants who took Garcinia lost an average of two pounds more than those who did not.
I know that more in-depth studies are needed for us to completely understand Garcinia Cambogia and its benefits, but having considered these studies that are available, I was ready to move on to the final stage of my research.
My Experience with Garcinia
To finalize my personal study of Garcinia, I decided to try it. Since Garcinia is 100% natural, I knew that it wouldn’t produce immediate results, so I made plans to take it for several months. The Garcinia supplement that I am using is very simple. Its ingredients are Garcinia Cambogia extract with 60% HCA, potassium, chromium and calcium. From what I have read, these last three ingredients are a normal part of hydroxycitric acid. Knowing that there is no magical weight loss supplement, I have been careful to eat a balanced diet and exercise for at lear a half an hour every day along with taking the Garcinia supplement three times a day. It has only been a month since I started my experiment, but I am already feeling better. I have lost four pounds, am able to eat less and have more energy. I am looking forward to the results that the next few months bring!
